Research Support Units




Research is one of the key agenda of UNITEN. This is clearly worded in its mission statement as, "We are committed to deliver a unique and enriching learning experience that fosters innovation and research". Innovation & Research Management Centre (iRMC) UNITEN was established in order to provide a proper mechanism and research management system, effectively and efficiently so as to translate this mission statement into operation.

The establishment of UNITEN R&D Sdn. Bhd. (URND) is a jump-start to UNITEN’s capability in assisting industries in research areas that has been identified by UNITEN as the forte, as well as those having high impact to shove both parties towards achieving their goals and compete in economic globalization. URND seeks to explore niche areas in energy-related research which are Sustainable Clean Energy, Power & Energy Services Convergance, Energy Social Sustainablity, Energy Infrustructure and Information & Communication Technology. There are three Centres of Excellence and more than 30 Research Centres under UNITEN/URND lead by academic staff who are expert in their own areas.

INSPA is the training and consultancy arm of UNITEN. It was established to act as the conduit for the university's dealings with external and internal parties relating to training, consultancy and other collaborative activities. This is in line with the university's goal to contribute to the well-being of society by conducting high quailty multidisiplinary contract research, training and consultancy services.
